The Food available between metro stations of Chandni Chowk or Chawri bazaar is amazing. Your day is sorted for food, time pass and a bonus is the cultural sights which take you back in time for almost a century. Delhi 6 is an amazing city within a city. If I could give my two bits of advice then I would say give Chandni Chowk its own autonomous administration. The People will then figure out how to keep their surroundings clean, organised and still go about their business. The population density is mind boggling and not to say about the floating ones or the immigrants from across the bordering states.

I take the metro ride from Kashmere Gate to Chandni Chowk for INR 10 which has one other stop that is Chawri bazaar. I find my way to the Ramlila Maidan to see the ‘raavan’ effigy but the grounds were not yet open and so strolled the lanes to reach Kinari bazaar. On the way I picked up a 13000mah power bank from a street hawker for INR 150 and feeling very good about it. That it doesn’t give power for even 13 minutes is a story for another day.

I am keen on getting a helping of ‘Dhaulat ki Chaat’ which incidentally I had in the bylanes of Kinari bazaar last year in the month of early December. I get into the very narrow lanes and make my way through the streets winding myself into the Parathe Wali Galli and I choose one of them based on the cleaner tables and order for one paratha, but he insists that I have to order a minimum of any two varieties.

I have wandered a lot in the busy, narrow lanes of Old Delhi, Chandani Chowk, and still haven’t tasted Nankhatai and Daulat Ki Chaat.

This area is best for both veg and nonveg lovers.

It is seasonal this ‘daulat ki Chaat’ best available in december (mostly winter) and can look for ‘nan khatai’ behind jama masjid.
