Cultural Extravaganza- Haridwar Kumbh Mela 2021 is less than two weeks from now. Haridwar a major tourist place in Uttarakhand will host the grand event. Kumbh Mela, the event takes place every twelve years.
Haridwar Kumbh Mela is recognised as an intangible cultural heritage by UNESCO, offering an unmatched spectacle of Indian customs and practices. It’s held every twelve years in rotation at the four holy places: Nashik, Ujjain, Haridwar and Prayagraj.

To witness and participate in Haridwar Kumbh Mela 2021 one is advised to make advance reservations.  It is a grand spiritual gathering. To have a good time and experience, I would highly recommend staying at ‘The Haveli Hari Ganga’. I observed that this place is located in the old part of the city in Haridwar.

How to reach

At a time like this, during Maha Kumbh Mela it's very crowded and getting there would be by cycle/auto-rickshaw. The approach roads were narrow but upon reaching the entrance to this hotel we were taken in for a pleasant surprise.

Cultural Extravaganza – Haveli Hari Ganga, Haridwar

I liked the courtyards, the simple yet elegant interiors and also the balcony overlooking the holy river. Providing good service is another commendable aspect.
Staying in over a century-old building at haveli  is always special. Situated at a walking distance from the main ‘Har ki Pauri’ was an added advantage. I know no other hotel (comfort/luxury category) that can command in this holy city of Haridwar.
